High School Spanish Class Vol. 1

For my old friend Edward Pearson, now a doctor and family man, then a friend in a boring Spanish class at Palm Beach Gardens High School, circa 1988-1989. Through his brother, and ultimately through him, I learned a great deal about electronic music from mixtapes his brother Ford gave him, ones he ultimately passed on to me as well. A lot of these songs ended up being a major influence in my sets during my first few years as a DJ at the old Foundation Nightclub in West Palm Beach, FL. Thanks, Ed. Here's the first volume of a dose of the old stuff.

TRACKS:

1 - Ministry - Work For Love (Extended Version)
2 - New Order - Shellshock (12" Version)
3 - Axodry - You (Razormaid Mix)
4 - Boxcar - Freemason (Shakedown Mix)
5 - The Sisters Of Mercy - Lucretia My Reflection

Shag Frenzy - The September '09 Selection

The end of summer means many things: no more white clothes, colorful New England leaves, hot apple cider, corduroys, sweaters, and the kids are back in school (even though I haven't had a fucking break since last September!). This month, we are also moving Shag Frenzy out of the CT state capitol and into a more diverse and fun area called Middletown. We are both very excited to start a new club life in Middletown, as there are numerous options for a great dinner beforehand, all within walking distance of The Shadow Room, our new home. They have food, too, so don't neglect. No more bullshit interstate driving for us, as we are soooooo much closer to Middletown from where we live. It's gonna be a good thing, as Martha Stewart likes to say all the time. Wesleyan students should take notice as our little indie dance night and cheap booze are both within walking distance. As celebration, here are some sweaty and sticky floorfillers that I intend on blasting on Saturday, 19 September.

P.S. Why have I not seen Mad Men yet? That redhead is DEADLY.
